  2. Greetings all. I've been a unix/linux sysadmin since 1998 and working in IT security since 2007 or so. I just finished the first Splunk class and passed my Splunk Certified Core User certification. I decided that was a good path to choose when my contract was pulled in January. Now I'm looking for a remote security position where I can use my experience to help a company with their projects and switch my career path finally entirely into security. I've attached my resume for your perusal. This is a very trying time for all of us, and being unemployed makes it more complex and difficult. I'd appreciate any help I can get with finding a position. Thanks! Be safe and well out there. resume_brad_woodcock_2020-NoContactInfo.pdf

  4. The company I currently work for is in the process of being bought, starting to look like an asset strip where the databases and key business people are all that is transferred. Infosec reports to IT and IT is seen as duplicate/redundant in the new organisation ... so .. guess what that means Ideally I want to stay in North West , Manchester area - so please let me know of any decent opportunities that you comes across 🙂 Over and Out.

  6. Folks, New York City Cyber Command (NYC3) is hiring! We are a [pretty] new city agency that is in charge of the NYC's cyber defense efforts, working across more than 100 agencies and offices to prevent, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats. The responsibility also includes ensuring NYC infrastructure, critical systems, and New Yorkers are being protected. The agency itself feels like start-up, meaning work-life balance is pretty solid. While I would say that they are paying close to industry standard, all the people here are passionate about cybersecurity. We are also trailblazing since we are one of the few cities in the US (dare I say in the world) that are trying to centralize cybersecurity under one umbrella. If anyone is curious about the agency or are thinking about applying to the agency, drop me a msg or DM me. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the agency and our work.
